Anyone to Marocco ??

Hello
Is anyone planning going to Marocco in the months of October or November for 2 weeks departing from Portugal (Albufeira) or meeting me there in another vehicle I’ll take a Nissan Patrol 2.8 D, I’ve been in Marocco twice need someone with some experience and to a relaxed (no speeding) 2 weeks. The route i'm thinking will go to a couple a days in Erg Chebi and then south to Tan Tan, and to Marrakesh In a low budget scheme, using some of Chris Scott routes.

Hello
I've been twice in Marocco and didn't need any visa with a Portuguese passport, Read Chris Scott Book for more information.
But i think you don't need any visa on marocco

I'm going there in November, but I don't think my diesel Golf will make it over those routes http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/ubb/smile.gif

I've decided to try a road based trip this time, with a piste 'expedition' planned for 2006.

Hello Derek and Pedro.
I still don't now when i'm going, but if I be around Ouarzazate by that time I will visit you Derek.
Pedro if you are going on bike you will be a bit bored doing the same speed as me, a bike goes faster.

We hope to go to Morocco about October. At present we are in Iran (well until tomorrow that is) and then heading to the UK. The problem is that our carnets run out in September and we dont know if Australian bikes can get into Morocco with out a carnet. Does anyone out there know???????? we dont really want to take out more carnets as we will return to Australia via the USA and Mexico so wont have a lot of use for a new carnet.

I dont think you need Carnets for Morocco just insurance. There ius a number entred into your passport at the border and the bike is allocated to your passport. Therefore you pay duty ofn the bike only if you leave with out it. If the bike does go bang then you have to get it out of the country with you or they wont let yopu leave. If its nicked you need a police letter reporting the theft before you can leave.
