Algeria - Morocco by train. Possible?
Hi,
This winter I'll stay in Niger (Sahara) for 4 months, passing through Algeria. (Visas already okay - thanks to an Agence de voyage that works in both countries, Algeria and Niger). As I don't want to go back to Switzerland immediately (winter is too cold and grey) I would like to take the overland way from Algeria to Morocco and then to Spain or Portugal... Slowly, slowly!!! :helpsmilie: So, does anyone of you know if there are trains running from Algier to anywhere in Morocco - although the borders are still closed? I know there is a flight Algier-Casa but I don't want to fly (if possible) and it's quite expensive.... Thanks for your answers!!! Jamma |
No train, no legal border crossing, your only sensible option is to fly, regardless of cost.

Guide?
Hey Wilco,
Thank you so much for your answer! Do you or anyone else know if we can stay in Algiers waiting for our flight to Morocco on our own? I mean without having a guide. Jamma. |
I believe you can, we did it a few months ago (only for a weekend). Escorts are only needed in the desert. Plenty of foreigners arrive every day at Alg airport and are not necessarily escorted.
