Hello we will be finishing our 8 month trip across Africa in Febuary by going from Niger to Agleria and finishing in Tunisia.

Is nobody heading through Algeria at that time??? With the problems in Niger it look like we may have to change our route to Mali and then into Algeria. We will see what the situation looks like.

I think you're right. I suppose the military in NIger won't let you drive to Agadez on your own. Maybe you get permission if you are escorted by a touroperator, that will have to accompagny you till Assamaka. The situation in Mali is a bit better, it seems. But also there an escort by a touroperator is maybe necessary, mostly to avoid bandit attacks.
