Does anyone on this forum have this CD? (I really can't be arsed to join a new forum...Especially when this one is so good!.. That and I lack a BMW!)

If so any chance they could source me a copy... obviously i would be willing to pay if required....

Nick,
Hold fire, I had a conversation with someone who got this CD.

You can get this info for free if you search around. Start looking on the HUBB, there was a couple of threads going end of last year.

this is all you need and it gets updated from time to time.

The guy who is selling the CD wrote, "There are around 1000 different tracks and a few roads on the CD... there is much more detail for the remote routes than Moroccan topographic... I've checked the tracklogs here with Maroc Topo and there are many that don't feature there..."

What is being sold

The reality is that as supplied the CD is practically useless as it includes tracklogs for all the Moroccan motorways, all the 4-lane highways, all the main roads and most of the side roads. So the first thing to do is to remove those to separate the wheat from the chaff. Bang goes 700 of the 1000 tracklogs!

I then started removing frm what was left the pistes that were already on the Maroc Topo map and after that I was left with just 130 tracklogs. Most of these were totally useless being either short 'stubs' where someone had tried a side track and given up, or for areas like Lac Ikri and around Merzouga where you can ride/drive where you like.

What's left

Not surprisingly I asked for my money back as I felt it was being sold under false pretences. The guy did admit that in fact I was right about the vast majority of tracks already being on Maroc Topo but refused to refund saying I had "had decided to spend the £25 to compare the CD." What annoys me is that he is continuing to sell the CD.

He claims the money goes to "my friends in Morocco who supply the info", but I am wary about this as well. Too many of the tracks are complete copies of the ones supplied to Maroc Topo from contributors such as Pascal Poublan (voyages4x4) and Vince Cobley (Protrax).

I contribute all my tracklogs to Maroc Topo project as I view it as a great public service.

Tim,

Thanks for the "heads up"

I must admit that I had my doubts about " the money goes to "my friends in Morocco who supply the info"

I think I'll use my maps and if we get a bit lost, who cares !

Regards
