Old Man On A Bike

Hi to bikers in the Midlands Area. I short changed bikers at the Lamb Farm meet by only reaching Panama in my account of the ride down to Tierra del Fuego and back to NY. The book is out now, OLD MAN ON A BIKE (HarperCollins), and I will be signing and answering questions at Skellerns Motorcycles, Worcester, on Saturday Dec 13.
Cheers...

I won't be at Worcester I'm afraid but did hear you on the radio the other day so trust you'll be wearing the correct footwear at the book signing.
That may intrigue the odd person and they may even pop along to see what it's all about.

Just got to say after listening to you at the Horizon's meet I bought the book from Amazon & took it on my trip to Morocco in October. What a brilliant read, only problem was I had to put it down occasionally to ride the bike! Thanks Simon, when is the next one coming out?

Old Man Off His Bike

Hi to all, and much gratitude for the appreciation - and for buying the book. Hopefully the second volume will be ready for late Spring....And I only have the one pair of good shoes!
Good riding in the New Year and may all your falls be gentle.
I had my leg smashed by three trucks (one truck carrying two trucks) last year in Tierra del Fuego. My small grandson now refers to me as Gran'pa Oops!
:oops2: Cheers...and a merry Christmas

Old Man Learning

Hi, to all...next book is expected for this winter while I am riding round India. Meanwhile I am trying to get legal in the UK. I have never ridden a bike in the UK - too cold - so have never had a bike license.
Our teenager returns Thursday from his winter job in the Alps - job? A few hours a day in a small ski hotel either side of hours riding his snowboard. Oh, and being expected to take the clients clubbing after he closes the hotel bar.
Where was I? Right, the teenager's return. He believes that my car is his car. Confronting his logic with my logic is time consuming - and pointless. Better buy myself a bike...
Yes, a 125.
First for the license.
There is much argument over the new module that comes in on April 27.
I rode the module last week for the DSA's chief tester which I am writing up now for MCN. The DSA viewpoint is obvious: if a fat old Blimp in his mid seventies can pass, where's the argument?
I did pass. However, the pass doesn't count! I have to retake after the 27th when the module comes into force.
:innocent:
