Lake District Overlanders Gathering
 
We are having a camping weekend on 31 July-2 August in the Lake District.

BBQ, evening fire, some green laning and tyre kicking.

sometimes we forget, this is an international travel website. There's more than one 'Lake District' in the world - probably most famous for world travelers being the one found in Chile/Argentina. If this was posted in the Europe section, it might have been somewhat ok, but I imagine there's lots of 'lake districts' in Europe.

I had to spend a few minutes trying to figure this out. So please people, use more meaningful and accurate terms and titles, especially in the topic titles. Its most helpful for when one is searching for specific information.

worst forum topic title I saw was simply '$' - which had to do with money/budgets. But in the 'old days' of computers, a '$' was a search term expression, meaning 'match anything in this position' - which, when searching for something, using a search 'wild card' for the topic is pretty stupid (IMHO).

Very first ones I remembered all of a sudden, Lake Districts in Europe: Finland, Sweden, Turkiye, ...and sure some more...

You are right Quastdog, but when we look where he is from and if we know that Lake District of UK is in Cumbria (let's say everybody is vise about this), there is no problem.

But we must make everything to be understood easier with a little help.
Sometimes we think that, when we know something, we believe everyone else also knows that.

Stan,
I was out along U3132 last week (The Old Coach Road), someone has seen fit to dig it up again, to the untrained this route would now be impassable, I've rasied it with the TRF, Countryside Ranagers and the Highways Department. Hopefully it should be sorted out, but with the heavy rain of late this route really should be avoided.

The signpost is where someone has ripped it out of the ground to use as a slider, wouldn't mind but they should have replaced it rather than just leaving it. For refference it's 5 1/2 feet long (the sign post), the whole is about 3 feet deep in the middle.

we came across almost the same thing on a lane near Masham ,it looked like someone had do it on Purpose :frown:

Hey guys sorry for the geographical confusion, I originally posted this in the UK section but its been moved as its not a hubb meeting.

Any way to clarify.. the gathering is in the English Lake District ie up North !!

Get yourselves up here, and lets hope the heat wave continues ( its normally snowing at this time of year up here…)
