Rally in Cambodia

I was reading about your post and I happen to have done the Rally 2 years ago , its really a blast and Ben the guys which managed the all thing is very cool. if you do it make sure to arrive few days prior the rally and if you can make sure that you know how to ride in sand , the local were super nice and the adventure was at the Rendez vous.If you need more info email me .

I haven't done this raid, but have heard good things about it. I recall meeting an aussie guy in a bar in Siam Reap one night, who had just finished this trip and raved about it.

Admittedly second hand info, I know, but he thought the set-up & riding was impressive.

The other option is to hire a 250 in Phnom Penh, grab a map and do it all yourself! There are a couple of bike rental places on Monivong bvld (Lucky Lucky and another one next door) that do 250s, mainly old Honda Bajas etc. Previously tourists could not hire bikes in Siam Reap, although this may have changed in the last 2 years.

I am hoping to do something simular to this as i will be there over the xmas period although a day or two's ride will be enough to calm my need to ride a bike.
I was going to hire myself but the hassle of carrying all your kit sold it for me as they provide everything. It does however seem a little expensive considering it is in south east asia and if you had the time, maps & kit you could do it for a fraction of the price.
however i think these trips are great as you can just turn up, do what you want to do and they fly out, hassles are for the companies running these trips, your just there to have a good time and i think the extra cash is worth that if time is one of your most important factors
