Bike meets in Germany

Over here in the UK we have bike meets in the summer usually at pubs out in the country and was wondering if anyone know of any in Germany around Bavaria and Black forest it would be nice to meet some German bikers while we are traveling through

Hi Gary,

Yes, there are a few here in the Black Forest, the main ones being mostly evenings or on Sunday mornings, but there are also a few "general" meeting places, mostly at the scenic areas. Let me know which towns you're planning to visit in the Black Forest (and if possible, which weekdays you're likely to be there and I'll post a summary. Most meetings are on specific weekdays, and are therefore listed in the local bike mags under days of the week, rather than by town/area.

Hope this helps!

Hi Gary,

The best tip I can give you is to go into any bike shop (this includes Touratech) and pick up one of the free bike magazines. You'll find them everywhere - they're A5 format and for the Black Forest area there are two: "BMM" and "Motorrad Spiegel", for Bayern, "Motorrad Szene Bayern". There are several pages at the back of each of these dedicated to bike meetings.

Have fun and if you're in my neck of the woods (Schwarzwald Nord/Mitte), drop us a PM a day or two in advance and I'll show you some good local roads and beer!

Cheers

Dave

Is that up near Berlin ?

El Aleman - Jens 19 Jun 2008 04:26

Johanniskreuz - pretty nice!

Maybe it is on your way - close to Kaiserlautern and the German Wine route!

Nice little towns and beautiful riding, some roads are closed at the weekend for motorcyclists...

Check out the Mosel river valley and Nuerburgring area too - and the north east of Heidelberg, it is called the Odenwald and Neckar river, there we had a couple of weeks ago the 1st HU Germany Meeting.

Maybe even nicer than the black forest - the Alsace Region, France west side of Rhine river - highly recommended!

Colmar, Strassbourg and all the Alsace mountains around, they have a attractive hill climb competition in July, the villag it is called La Bresse, close to the beautiful lake of Gerardmer, 1000s of motorcycles!

Have fun - El Aleman

I think we ride down through the wine route on the way but will probably call on the way back, we did Alsace in 2003 and had a great time we went swimming in the lake at Gerardmer. We were going to go back through France but i like the sound of the roads being closed for motorbike i want to call at Touratech to see what bits i can get for my GS
Thankyou very much for your help we have always found German biker some of the friendliest on the road. 2005 i was at the Elephant rally, i was told it was one of the coldest -18 i didn't have to cook once a group of Germans shared thier pig roast and beer so i have to return the favour this trip

Hi Jens,

OK, OK, you're possible right, but I'm biased

TBH, I spend more time on the other side of the Rhine than here, when I'm on the bike. Maybe it's not so picturesque, but it's certainly a lot quieter and traffic-free, especially at the weekend!

viele Grüße

Dave

Gary,

if you're interested in "Boxer-Talks" (BMW) here is an overview of the chapters of the "Boxer-Forum" for Southern Germany: Boxer-Forum - Anzeige des Themas #1785 - Alle Stammtische im Süden auf einen Blick

This means though, that you're able to at least read German :smartass:

Ghost Rider 20 Jun 2008 17:54
