Adventure Show at Colorado Motorcycle Expo Sept. 20 & 21

Two seminars about 100 years of long distance motorcycling, and dispelling some of the myths associated with global motorcycle travel, will be offered by well-known motorcycle adventure author and moto-journalist Dr. Gregory W. Frazier. The shows will be during the Colorado Motorcycle Expo (www.coloradomotorcycleexpo.com) at the National Western Complex in Denver, Colorado.


The Saturday show will incorporate:



“The longest, most difficult motorcycle journey ever attempted.” (1912)
“The First ‘Coast To Coast’ Trip By A Motorcycle And Sidecar – A True Adventure” (1913)
“The Greatest Ever ‘Round-The-World Motorbike Adventure” (2012-2013)


The Sunday show, RIDING THE WORLD, will include:


“Five Times Around The Globe By Motorcycle” (1980-2014)


Times: 1:00 PM, Saturday & Sunday, September 20 & 21, 2014

Place: National Western Complex, Denver, Colorado


Purpose: For over 100 years motorcyclists have been riding around the world on a wide variety of motorcycles ranging from Harley-Davidson to Vespa. The first person to solo around the world did it in 1912-1913 on a one speed, 7 horsepower Henderson motorcycle. The fastest person to circle the globe on a motorcycle did it in less than 17 days.
The first couple to ride across the United States did so in 1913 on a Henderson motorcycle equipped with a self-made sidecar. During their incredible ride, having left Long Beach, California on May 24, 1913, they were in Denver, Colorado from July 5 – July 9, 1913, marking the trail for others to follow, and eventually arrived in New York City on September 6, 1913.


The Saturday, September 20 multi-media show at 1:00 PM, LONG DISTANCE RIDING ADVENTURES – 100 YEARS, dispels some of the myths and tales about the first motorcycle adventure riders while sharing numerous secrets of modern day adventure travel.



The second multi-media show, Sunday, September 21 at 1:00 PM, SUN CHASING – RIDING THE WORLD recounts Dr. Frazier’s five incredible motorcycle rides around the world. Frazier is currently on a pit stop during a sixth attempt to “girdle the globe” by motorcycle.
