A Zagora Hotel with truly awesome service...
 

3 days ago, I rode into Zagora with the intent to only stay overnight, then to head south to the terminus of the N9 highway at M'Hamid El Ghizlane.

I'm still here in Zagora, at the same hotel, due to two unexpected events:

1) It got hot. The temperatures every day have reached +35°C - for someone like me, who grew up in Arctic Canada and never experienced a temperature above 20°C until my late teens, +35°C is just too hot for any activity.

2) I found an awesome boutique hotel here in Zagora. I'm not in the habit of plugging hotels, but, if anyone reading this plans to visit Zagora in the future, I highly recommend this place. It's called Le Sauvage Noble, and it is located about 4 km north of the city of Zagora, just off the main highway.

Although of modern construction, the property is of traditional architecture, with a great courtyard in the front, tall atrium in the main building, and very nice patio with plunge pool at the rear. The owner, who is active in the day-to-day management of the hotel, grew up in a nomadic family in the region, and is a delightful host. He speaks English, French, and German.

The food and service here is outstanding - tea, coffee, and cold mineral water (still or sparkling) is free all day. Below is a photo of my motorcycle - the staff thought it would be too hot to sit on if it was left out in the sun, so, they wrapped it in a blanket. That is classy!

Rates are about €55 a day, in my mind that is great value for all that is received. Breakfast and dinner are €4 and €11 respectively. The food is great. I tried to pay for all the laundry of mine that they washed, but my offer of money was refused. The clientele here are mostly adult couples from France, Germany, & Netherlands.

An truly awesome place, worthy of consideration as a base of operations for riding out in all directions from Zagora.
