Tarmac in the Marocco.

Hi.
Looking forward to start the planning for a trip to Marocco next year, from Junr to september. Yes it will be hot and sunny I know but thats the time I got:thumbup1:

The only big question I got is, the XT 660 or my old Moto Guzzi California 2?

I am sure that there will be tarmac for the time I will spend down there, but do I miss out much if I cant use the dirt roads?

I`d live to take my MG but maybe the XT is more up for the task.
Any one been riding an old non offroad bike in Marocco for a longer time?

Hi,

The type of bike depends largely on where you want to ride :)

I took my '99 CBR600 (does it count as "old"?) three times to Morocco before using an (also old) Africa Twin I bought later on. Enjoyed every trip regardless of bike type.

Last September I did three weeks around Morocco, down to Fes, Imalchil, Erg Chebbi, Ouarzazate, Tizi'n'test Marrakech, Chefchouen. I had a great time and did it all on tarmac.

Go on the Guzzi

I think you could have a great time in Mk on a bike like a Cali, and of course have a great time getting there across late summer Europe from Sweden.
There are many tracks down south that could be easily done on a gently ridden MG. I would say whatever you can do on a GS12 etc could be done on a Guzzi.
