Tanger Med or Ceuta ferry

Hi,
I'm going to Morocco in 2 weeks, whether to take a ferry to Ceuta, no problems, which port do you recommend, I will be sailing from Algericias
Can I easily buy tickets at the port? I'm taking my first cruise on Saturday morning.

We bought our tickets on line last summer when we overnighted in Algeciras. Ceuta out, Tan Med back. Of the two Ceuta was by far the easiest. Tan Med was big and busy - two hours to get through and that was with some of the security people pushing us to the front of the various queues.

You can easily buy tickets at the port. Just ignore the wandering "helpers" and follow the signs to the ticket offices. "Open return" gives the most flexibility, and the information boards let you choose the next sailing (timetables often have little meaning on these crossings!)
My choice would still be Tan Med because the insurance booths and cash points are all in the port so easy to use. I've not used Ceuta since the border upgrades so can't comment on that aspect.

Carlos is still be best prices for tickets.

Ceuta is a little cheaper but last summer there were delay of upto 8 hours crossing the border. Customs is also tighter on alcohol etc

One thing to note about Ceuta is that you won't be able to buy border insurance on a Sunday evening (or during the day either, maybe?). But you can find an insurance shop in Tetuon instead; just means you'll have to ride there without cover.

That’s very true. We went though on a Sunday (in August - no queues) and the insurance office was shut.

Just buy a one way ticket from the number of booths and they sell you the next ferry to cueta .. and when you return do the same ( if you use a return ferry you could wait for 2/3 hours )
