Riding Companion Morocco 2015 / 2016
 

Hi all

I am a TRF member (live here in UK) and will be in morocco late December this year 'til mid Jan, based / starting in Casablanca. I intend to do a few days journey, 1000 km or so, as much off road as possible. I intend to travel light and stay at guest houses etc for a few nights and hope for a biker companion/s with morocco experience (or not !) to travel with.

Im considering whether I want to go or not. Due to work I would go around 25th Dec to maybe 7th of Jan. I would fly down and rent a bike (600cc dual sport or something like that) and i prefer travelling simple.

If I go I would def like to aim for nature and smaller towns/villages. Im not much for cities although passing through can be interesting.

I dont have experience with Morocco and I have not had my license for that long, but I did 20k km journey to Tadjikistan in 2014 so I can manage.

Would be interesting to know a little more about your plans. I wasnt planning on going anywhere around new years but thought about Morocco just the other day. If flight and bike rental works out nicely and I can figure out some kind of interesting route (shouldnt be so hard) I might just go.

Hello FS thanks for your post. I plan to arrive in Casablanca on 26/12, spend a few days there and start a tour from Aguim on 31/12 on MH6 or MH8 then onto MH7 (weather permitting). If weather is not good may start from anti-atlas trails. Aim to do about 1000km over 1 - 2 weeks.I aim to travel light and only wildcamp if necessary. Let me know if you're interested. Nick

OK, if I go I will probably lean more towards taking off on a bike around 27th/28th and going for about a week. Ill let you know if/when I go!

just noticed this thread and I'm quite interested as well.
I was also thinking of renting a bike down there (BMW 650 most likely) and go for a weeks trip!

Sounds good. There's plenty more things to consider such as what equipment to take, possible routes, weather, where to stay etc. Let me know please what your thoughts are on this and when / where / for how long you want to go and we'll see if we can tie-up. I'll start on 31/12 from Aguim area (weather permitting). Hope to hear from you soon so we can hone the plans

!0 day trip only but an awesome time ahead.!!:D

Where will you guys be heading?

I was thinking to head down south on the coastal road to start off with.
