Hi All,
Is this route fully sealed and suitable for 2wd saloon or,is 4x4 still advised?

The top third was still a piste in 1972, but sealed some time later. Nowadays convoys of French motorhomers go over the pass without a worry in the world, see W10 Tizi n'Test

In November 2015 some short sections before reaching the pass were not sealed. But I guess that they have already completed the pavement of the south ramp of Tizi n Test.
The rest is more or less good tarmac.

I crossed this around one week ago on a large motorbike. You'd have no problem in anything reasonable - I even saw a coach built motor home coming the other way to me!

A much better crossing than the Tizi-n-Tichka in my opinion; smaller, quieter, more peaceful.

Tony, your Qashqai will have no problems at all. And it will be an all together smoother experience than the Defender!
