Best place in Marrakech to get land cruiser repaired

Hi,
I need a lot of work (installing winch & winch plate, repairing spare wheel carrier, installing all brake discs and pads, diagnosing and repairing a noise from the front suspension) doing on my car.

I have all the parts with me except for whatever is needed to fix the suspension noise.

Any recommendations on garages/mechanics in Marrakech? Unfortunately it has to be in Marrakech as the family wants to stay there for 4 days.

P.S. I've been going through the forum and so far I've come across two names which seem capable of doing the above jobs, Atraxion 4x4 and Tichka distribution. Would you agree or recommend some others?

Suggest you get in touch with the owner, Mr Zakaria Trifhate at Atraxion 4x4 . Good man.

and to help you find him: ( did you find your riad btw?)

Mucho gracias @bertrand. I found a YouTube video on Atraxion! Now I know what the owner looks like :)

I did a lot of googling on the riad without success. I know it's roughly near the Koutoubia mosque so should be ok.

Just got my HDJ100 repaired within 30 hours. Got the following work done:

1. Changed all brake discs and pads (brought my own discs and pads)
2. Changed diff, gearbox, transfer case and brake oil (brought my own oils)
3. Changed all belts including tensioner and pulley (brought my own)
4. Changed both front lower control arm ball joints
5. Repaired horn & radio antenna
6. Repaired spare wheel carrier
7. Replaced mid exhaust section
8. Tracking
9. Installed winch plate and winch (brought my own)
10. Thorough inspection of front and rear suspension, axels and drive shaft

For all of this they charged me 6'900 DH which I think is a decent price. These guys only work on 4x4 and I'm very happy with the quality and speed of their work.

Cost breakdown:

The most expensive bit in all of this were the two ball joints for 1900 DH. 3000 DH for labour. 1600 DH for exhaust and spare wheel repair. 200 DH for A/C belt. 150 DH for tracking.

Motorbike repairs

In Morocco anything can be repaired and usually at a decent price. For motorcycle repairs the best place is Moto Expert and Speed Machine. They are both located in Casablanca. They can run computer based diagnostics and have decent and capable mechanics that know road bikes and enduro machines as well.
If you need further details I can link provide the addresses. Wheels of Morocco can also help out is repairs and can be contacted if you are stuck anywhere in Morocco. They organise bike tours in the country and have a support vehicle that is mostly on the road plus they have good contacts.
As I have been living here for almost 3 years now and a biker myself I know there is no impossible in Morocco and you will always have help. Unfortunately it is hard to find things on the internet but if you post a specific request I'll try to provide an answer.

Moto expert and Speed Machine are located just round the corner from Moto Plus (see my post from March 2012), at N33 35 10.2 W7 36 50.8. 57 Rue Ichbilia

Indeed they are not far from Moto Plus. Rue Ichbilia is the shop / showroom. For repairs it is rue Baalabak (parallel to Ichbilia). To get to the workshop you'll need to go around as it is one way.
Moto expert moved there in Jan 2015 as they were in Mohammedia before. A go-to place for aftermarket spares, tyres and other stuff for the bike.

Daniel is the owner, he has a extremely capable mechanic and repairs all kind of bikes, inclueding complicated electrical problems that require an analasys computer ! Very nice guys, stayed there a couple of days !

greetings from Gabon,

Chris

Speed Machine is now KTM and Husqvarna dealer and does not do Ducatis anymore, nor Vespas. They still do MV Augusta though but not many sell around Morocco. The workshop is now combined Speed Machine / Moto Expert and they have two capable mechanics who will sort out any issues with your bike.

Hi all, just hit Morroco and am planning a trip back to Cape Town. We saved all our final mechanical work for Morroco (cheap). We went to Atraxion 4x4 in Sidi Ghanem Marrakech. The guys there were absolute class, cheap and did a professional job including installing a extra electric fan mount. Would recommend anyone to go there after or before west africa for a check up. Maybe get parts in europe though. Wish us luck...

CREER 4 Oct 2016 17:24

I'm looking for someone to sort out a nasty but small dent that goes across 3 panels on a vehicle - any ideas en route (ideally not in Marrakech) via Casa then southbound to Tan Tan ... can deviate a bit

Thanks for suggestions

priffe 4 Oct 2016 18:51

In Tiznit there are a few places and good hotels to stay. Also the road between Agadir and Tiznit there are several body shops, ask around.

CREER 4 Oct 2016 20:24

Thanks Priffe, perfect spot for a day or two & I adore Tiznit

Anyone have any particular favourite panel beaters in Tiznit? I'll have an open back to the van (with awning) but with stuff inside which will be a nightmare to offload so would love to know about any honest guys in town!

PS. Would these guys be able to fit a reserve tank? If not, any other ideas? Costs of putting on an extra tank? Thanks!
