Morocco Overland most fun/hardest routes?

1 Attachment(s)
Hey!

Sorry if this has been asked before, I tried searching, but didn't find anything. I have just finished plotting into Basecamp the route I had prepared for a 30 day trip in Morocco. It might be that what I already have prepared is more than enough for a month, but I figured I'd ask you guys:

What are the hardest, most beautiful, epic and/or fun routes in Morocco Overland you know?

We're riding a Tenere 700 and a 701 Enduro LR, we're going to be equipping knobby tires (Mitas E-09), and we want a proper challenge. We're planning on going through all the areas mentioned in the book, Eastern, High Atlas, Saharan, Anti Atlas and Western Sahara, so if you have any recommendations, please share. We also want to do as much wild camping as possible, so if you know any great places to camp, we'd like to know. We're going from the end of April to the end of May 2020.

Here's a pic of the route I've set up so far:

Routes I've entered in basecamp:
ME1 from Missour to Beni Tajite
ME7 to Aoufous
MS 11 to Merzouga
MS6 to Tagounite
MS7 in reverse to Foum Zguid
MA12 to Assaragh and Taliouine
MA4 to Guelmim/Fask
MW4 or 5 to Aouinet Lahna
MW2 in reverse from Aouinet Lahna to Msied
MW7 to Smara
From Tan-tan, take the MW8 in reverse to Sidi Ifni
From Ousemlal, take the MA14 in reverse to Igherm
From Taliouine, take the MH8 to Aguim
From Ouarzazate, take the MH12 in reverse to Demnate
MH17 to Azilal
MH16 to where it meets MH18, and then head to MH19 to Boumalne Dades
MH10 and MH5 to Alnif
From Tinerhir, take MH2 to Imilchil

And that's all I've got ?c?

We're currently in Tiznit , doing the beach route south of Sidi Ifni tomorrow.

If you want a challenge, MH5 certainly is! We did it in 2016 on an 1190R and 1200 GSA. Chris mentions us in MO3. NW to SE wasn't easy. The other way is probably far harder, a few big rocks to climb.

The fesh-fesh west of Taouz on MS3 can be hard work, also the dunes west of M'hamid around Erg Chegagga on MS7 etc. Managed these on an 1190R and 1290R respectively.

Let us know how it all goes! :-)

Thanks Ian, hope you're having a great trip!

I have the MO3, read about MH5 earlier today and after hearing about Chris meeting you I thought to myself that I'd really like to try that route. I'm probably too stupid for my own good, but hell, it'll be a story to tell

I'm glad to hear we've got some work ahead of us! I actually saw your videos on vimeo the other day, looked awesome! Inspired me to try the climb up Jebl Ayachi, is it hard to find the road up, or do you have the coordinates?

Good film of Jebel Ayachi ascent from Nouredine from Loc rentals.
The highest piste in Morocco, they say.

I'm not aware of anything higher. The piste from there east to Midelt can be quite a challenge.

Last October we ended up in an amazing gorge after taking a wrong turn just past Aicha, looked like a dozer had just pushed a piste through it, certainly nothing on the maps or sat imagery
