The leftmost magenta route above from Azrou appears to be similar to that described in this post.

From Khenitra you could carry on over the High Atlas via Imilchil and then turn east at Ait Hani to follow the beautiful 'three gorges' route to Amellagou, then on to Merzouga.

Stop to explore the khetteras just before Jorf.

well worth going on this rout, but there may be a few rivers to cross if there has been any rain !
I remember stopping for some food in a dusty " shop " and bought a tin of sardines ............ sat outside an a nice moroccan brought me some bread over ! ............... priceless !!!

Since the book was written a lot of that green line might be road now, apart from Belkassem, but nice empty roads iirc.
One I might try in a week or two off the N13 is the track beyond Bou Redine (red house below) around and over the jebel to Gourama (as described in the book).

If you go on to do ME2 and MS11, let us know how it went..

did that in 2016 & 2017 but went by the dry river piste.

up to the river start good, hard, easy piste, the river not so easy , after the river until gourama tarmac

can't find my 2017 pics but here you have the video from 2016 me on the white 690

Thanks, good to know.
May drop it them depending on time and energy.
Or do it in a car later.
I think in 2008 we pushed on beyond Bou Redine in a pickup but saw nothing much. No reason to think a piste has since developed.

There is always the piste to Jebel Ayachi summit.
I saw a tracklog on Wiki and Nouredline from Loc has a video on his Insta.
(search this forum for Ayachi - it's here somewhere).

That route was impassable by car in September. Locals told us there was a new diversion piste and one of the group tried it and said it was very difficult, so the rest of us ended up going out to Talsint.

We did have 2wd cars in the group so on our own the 4x4's might have pushed through

@fcaeiro, if you are going to be on the N13 near Er Rachidia, you may be interested in this short diversion, Legion Memorial Plaques
