Yeah this is nice, but I want this convenience for Rosso or the Mauri side of the Morocco border crossing...now that would be progress;)

Am I a numpty .... or what?

Followed Tim's instructions above to the letter. However when clicking " Etrangers non resident", no box appears for entering the police number in my passport! ...... a colon there, but no box! When I attempt to print, nothing happens!
Anyone else experienced this? ...... or what am I missing?

What browser are you using? It works fine with IE7, doesn't work at all with Firefox.

mystic 6 Mar 2008 12:23

Firefox! thanks for that ..... I'll try it on the laptop / has IE!

Thanks Giacomo

Thanks David. I can see the linguistic basis for that. I have filled it in and printed it. Although I had to do some changing of the margins to make it fit properly on American 8.5 X 11 inch paper instead of the A4 used in the rest of the world.

In order to enter Morocco you need to complete a declaration of temporary importation form (D16TER). This is normally a three-part no-carbon-required form with a green copy, yellow copy and white copy.

However, you can now complete your temporary import form (D16TER) for Morocco online, then print it off for handing over when you get there. This saves having to find out which window you need to queue at for the form and means you don't have the hassle of working out how to complete it when all you really want to do is get through the border and ride!

Go to Douanes marocaines and take the third option (D16TER), then the second option (Saisie and Edition). Now complete as follows:

Prénom and Nom: Your given name and family name

If you have been to Morocco before you will have a police number in your passport in the format 999999AA, in which case click on Étrangers non résident (non-resident foreigners) and enter the number in the box.

If you haven't been to Morocco before, click 'autres'.

Immatriculation: your registration number (no spaces)
Marque: BMW (or whatever)
Type: 1200GSA (or whatever) followed by 'MOTO' if it's a motorbike
Genre: Tourisme
Pays: Grande Bretagne
Date de 1ere mise: enter the date of vehicle first registration
Chassis no: your VIN (vehicle identity number).

Then press Imprimer and print the page that appears.

That's it!
Tim

Insurance

Hi all, this is my first time on this foram so bear with me. I have been to Morroco 3 times now, and met with Tim at Maknes in 2007 and Portsmouth this April on our way again. Hi Tim. Hope you got over the cold and had a good time learning Arabic. When we arrived at the border we were not able to get any insurance as the 'shop' was closed. No one could tell us where to go for temporary insurance so we had to drive, Land Rovers, to Techuan with 3 vehicles un insured, luckily with no problems. We eventually found someone who could provide temp cover but it took 4 hours to get it sorted. My question is, has anyone else had the same issue and how did they overcome it?

Taking Mali registered vehicle into Morocco

The info from Tim is priceless and I have followed it to the Douanes site. However, my vehicle is Malian registered and Mali is not on the drop down menu in the form. Does that mean Mali is not accepted? I have googled and googled and found nothing.

Hi
Does anyone know if the Moroccan police number in your passport stays the same when you renew your passport
Thanks Dave

Dave seager-Thomas 12 Nov 2009 15:56

Nowich Union in UK will sell you a green card for Morocco if you are insured with them

Morocco stuff

Hi Dave,

You get a new police number if you present a new passport.

Carole Nash, CIS, and NFU will all issue green cards for Morocco. However, it always depends on who you speak to and how clued up they are. A lot of folks just want to sell you a basic policy with no complications.

Happy trails,

Jojo
