Cirque de Jaffar condition?

kinderjajcka from Slovenia has posted on TripAdvisor asking,

"Can someone please tell me if the piste from Midelt to Tinghir via Imilchil is passable (tomorrow) for a motorbike? Some told me that it is no problem and others, that due to floods it isn't possible. Or maybe a website where I could check that?"

Does anyone have a condition report on the Cirque de Jaffar?

You can see my response at http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowTop...et_Region.html

The piste has been repaired, there´s no great stone. You can pass even with a SUV

Thanks. Is that condition report from before or after the storm of 20-21 September?

If you read the link to TripAdvisor above, following my advice kinderjajcka took an all-tarmac route but there was serious damage just before Agoudim.

Dear all,

I'm preparing a Marrocos trip to next April with some friends.
We will traveling with our maxi trails motorcycles.

I'm thinking sleep in Midelt and start doing the Cirque de Jaffar piste by the morning at 08h00 am.

What time do you think we will need to arrive in Agoudal ?

I'm thinking make in the same day the complete piste, from Midelt, Cirque de Jaffar, complete the gas tank in Imilchil, Agoudal, go to road 704 direction to Gorges du Dades, M'Semrir and sleep at the hotel in Boulmane Dades... Do you think this is ok to make from the 8 on the morning until the 6pm?

According all the information we have, this piste have the total about 317 km.
If we rules :
2 hours at 20 km per hour = 40 km
+ 4 hours at 40 km per hours = 160 km
+ 2 hours at 50 km per hour = 100 km
I'm putting out 2 ours to take pictures, complete gas tank, take a coffee, etc...

Do you think this is possible to do, this is achievable ?: Palm:

I need do it because we only have one week to do all the Marroco trip...

I appreciate very much all the help, every information you can give me it's really importent to me, I will have the responsibility to travel with 5 or 6 friends and nobody have experience...

Thank you all,

It´s difficult planing time tables for Morocco... but I think it´s too much if you are not in a rally. I´d better stop at Agoudal, there are some gites there.

From Cirque Jaffar most of the piste is graded. The gorge leading to Agoudim may be slow if flood damaged but afterwards it's easy riding.

Getting to Boumalne Dades in a day from Midelt is pushing it. Slow down and enjoy the ride.

The fuel station at Imilchil is a km or so north of town, and there are plenty of auberges here. Next stop is Agoudal which as Pera says has several auberges. from here you're comitted to the exposed ride over the Tizi to the Dades Gorge and there's nothing till Msemir.

Lots of auberges from here all the way to Boumalne Dades.

We leave Midelt around 9am and end in Imilchil by 3pm or if all is well the Dades narrows around 6pm. In 4x4s.

Happy trails,

Peter

Hi,

Thank you very much all of you.
My decision is make the first part from Midelt and sleep around Imilchil, second day we will finish. We will take the route until Dades...

Thank you so much. I really appreciate you help because I ride a KTM 1190 ADV. R and I have Endure and Rally experience, but the most part of my friend are riding BMW GS and they don't have off road experience, so this can be a problem on this kind of piste, we should go very slowly...

The best to all of you :thumbup1:

Hi guys

We dis the Cirque on March 30.
We went up trough the Gorges with lots of water :mchappy: but no big problems getting trough. At the end we were supposed to get out to Midelt but there was to much snow so we went in Imilchil direction it was also with big portiions of road covered with snow and a big tree blooking the way. Tooked us 5 hours to make those 7km.
But it was a day to remember

Hi Pedro, i'll be there next week with f800gs adventure
Please let me know if the tree you talk about is on the southern track (via Anefgou) or on the northern one (via Tounfite)
Do you have any picture of this tree?...i don't want to lose 5 hours :)

Pedro Marques 10 Apr 2015 22:05

I hope the road is is better condition than when we found it. To much snow and mud, the snow is probably much better but the mud I don't think so.
Don't go there alone, we were 9 and took us that long to get out.
The tree is is the track when you go from the cirque in Imilchil direction. It's near the end of the 7 km, closest to the Tarmac
