My friend is on his way alone with HD to Morocco from Tarifa to Tangier.

He has tought to come back to Spain from Ceuta ?

What do you prefer better Ceuta or Tanger Med from Fes via Chefchaouen ?

Has there been any problems with refugees when driving alone ?

***** Sorry don't know what HD is, and I haven't used Ceuta for a few years. You do seem to get more touts there though.


What do you prefer better Ceuta or Tanger Med from Fes via Chefchaouen ?
***** The last few years I've used Tangier-Med, just prefer it to Ceuta, easier IMHO.


Has there been any problems with refugees when driving alone ?

***** Never personally had a problem. Just be aware, like anywhere else.

Tanger Med wasn't finished when I was there, so I know nothing about it. I took Ceuta/Sebta in both directions. There was really nothing difficult or dangerous about it, and the Spanish side of the border gives some interesting insights into colonial and post-colonial history and attitudes, if that's of interest. Tanger Med sounds more efficient, but that's not always what I'm after when traveling. YMMV etc. etc. etc.

Tan Med is my prefered option as you drive in straight off the motorway with very few,if any,prospective refugees around the gates and local shops.However,last year the road out of Tan Med towards Tetuan was heavily inhabited with young male travellers hoping to attract the attention of passing traffic.

At the end of what will have been a fantastic trip I would recommend your friend heads straight to Tan Med and so mitigate any perceived risks he may worry about.
