African Lion 2022 military exercise
 

Running from 20 June to 1 July, the joint Moroccan-American African Lion military exercise will take place in Kenitra, Agadir, Taroudannt, Tan Tan and Mahbès.

The last location might prove sensitive as it's within Western Sahara rather than pre-1975 Morocco.

20km to the east of Mahbès is the sand berm protecting Moroccan interests with the actual border another 10km to the east. And a further 40km easton lies the Polisario-run camps at Tindouf.

Will African Lion prove to be a red flag to a bull as far as Polisario is concerned?
