Turkey to Iraqi Kurdistan to Iran
 

Hi guys!
this summer I would like to drive my Honda Dominator from Turkey to iraqi Kurdistan (Silopi-Zhako border), then to Iran (Rayat-Piranshahr border).
I would like to know if somebody had a recent experience and could tell me:
- if it is possible to do this; i read somewhere there was a new rule that you must entry and exit the same border crossing
- if the Silopi-Zhako border is easy to pass with a motorbike
- if the Rayat-Piranshahr border is easy to pass with a motorbike (do they know how to handle the Carnet the Passage?)
Needless to say, I would check the security situation before leaving

i just did it the other way round. entering at haj omaran/piranshar. got a free 9 days visa at the border (just for kurdistan of course), that could have beeen extended in erbil. left kurdistan a week later through zhako/silopil border. no problem at all. beautiful countryside. good experience.
