When you enter Israel don't let them stamp your passport. they will stamp a seperate piece of paper which you need to keep with your passport if you ask them . When you get back to Syria 'lose' that piece of paper and you will have no Israeli stamp in your passport.
I just had the same crossing from south to north cyprus. The north stamps a piece of paper because if you have a northern cyprus stamp you can't get into Greece. |
Then still, they have the stamps from the Jordan side of the border, they're not stupid. There's a stamp that you left Jordan and you didn't disappear in thin air... ;)

israeli visa to syria
I guess the only chance is to have 2 passports (2 nationalities needed, I fear :D ).
I'm planning the same trip (by car), Israel included, but to get away I will ship the car from Israel to Greece and follow up by plane after a couple days. You could do the same to Turkey! Cheers |

Hey Guys;
I've been browsing this thread and getting some ideas! I'm planning on being in Jordan (likely amman) from mid feb 09 to mid april 09. I see some of you are going to be starting in Turkey and ending up in that neck of the woods...would anyone be interested in selling their bikes to me in Jordan? I'd love to use in jordan and then I would make the return trip to istanbul. I'd like to sell it/leave it in istanbul at the end of my trip and fly back home (california). Would someone be willing to let me use their bike and return it to them in istanbul? We could work out a fair price? thanks so much! ano |

I agree, if you want to make a round trip you have to take of the stamps. That means if you travel from Jordan to Israel, you also have to tell the Jordan border police to stamp only on a paper as well as the Israeli border police. If you are traveling with Carnet do not forget that there might be also stamps in. But you can get a second passport before you leave your homecountry, just tell them the reason and you get a second passport, at least in Germany this is no problem. If you are around Beirut, let me know, I am living here. Lalli |
