Pakistan to Iran Need tyres.
 

Hi all.
Brand new first time user. Am currently riding BMW GS 1200 from Australia to Ireland via SEA subcontinent etc etc. Having a great time of it and so far all so good except the Himalayas took more out of my tyres than calculated. Am now in Srinagar Kashmir. Am leaving shortly for the India Pakistan border with only a couple of thousand killometers left in my tyres. Heading to Quetta in Pakistan to pick up visa for Iran. This is about as far as i am going to get on these tyres. Naturally 150 x 70 rear and 110 x 80 front profile tyres aren't comon around here. Any suggestions???

Sorry, no info from me cos I havent been to Pakistan or Iran... only guessing (probably based on reading about it somewhere) that tyres, etc for big bikes arent available in those countries. I´d probably try to get them from India, before crossing into Pakistan, probably not widely available in India, either..... but hopefully someone with more accurate info can help you on that!

Actually Im planning to go your route the other way next September... may I ask, which countries have you visited, and how´s the trip been in general, and how long you been traveling now? How did you get your bike to India, probably werent allowed to ride thru Myanmar or China, were you?

Do you maybe have a blog etc, where I could read more about your experiences?
