Oman - RHD vehicles
 

Just read on the FCO website (www.fco.gov.uk) that the import (even temporary) of right hand drive vehicles is not allowed... does this mean there is no way to take a RHD vehicle into the country?

Does anyone have any experience of this??

Don't know if it is much help...

But I'm living here (in Oman) at the moment I haven't seena right hand drive vehicle yet!!!!

Having said that I have only seen a few none Omani vehicles at all - and they were all Dubai ones - so LHD anyway!!!

PS: Given the same info you have I left my LR 90 at home and sold it before coming here... much as I would have liked to get it out here...

You will not be importing a car even temporarily,you will be transiting with a Carnet.Great place don't let doubts put u off.

I've been through Oman with my RSA regestered GS (bike)no problem. Are stying in Dubai at the moment and use my RSA regestered bike everyday to work and back. Just been to Muscat this weekend again, did not even use my Carnet. I've seen a veiw RHD cars here in Dubai, do not know about Oman.
