Israel Info

Looking to ship my XT250 to Tel Aviv so I can spend the next 3mo exploring Israel. Anyone have experience shipping to TLV and can share info on paperwork etc?

Thanks
Sarah

Hi Sarah. From where are you thinking to ship your bike to Israel?

I'm sending it from Vancouver, Canada.

Ah ok! I am only aware of marine shipping from Europe (Lavrio, Greece) to Israel (Haifa).

Did you try to inquire Air Canada? They have some deals for flying you and your bike. Maybe you can fly cheap somewhere to Europe, then drive to Greece and ship from there.

Or just fly directly to Tel Aviv from Vancouver.. hahaha

Good luck in any case.

The shipping part I can handle, I'm mostly curious about what paperwork is involved once the bike get's to Israel. Can you share any details on that?

I arrived with my USA-registered motorcycle via ship in Haifa (from Lavrio, Greece) and was completely ignorant of any and all requirements. This is how I travel! I spent a good 3-4 hours doing various things I can't remember, including walking over to the city of Haifa itself and bought some insurance (my green card expired the day before! (typical of me)) and then went to at least three different offices inside the secured port area itself, got a variety of stamps, paid a bunch of money for god-knows-what bureaucracy, and after all was said an done I drove off the port area a free man.

This is far from an answer you want, but just an assurace that patience and some money will get you and your bike in-country. Its an interesting area, be sure to go to PA too.
