ePetition - Syrian action
 

Hi all - hope this isn't against the rules, but no appologies if it is.
I'm sure like me, many of you have travelled through Syria and experienced the warmth and hospitality given to strangers in towns, cities and villages all over.
I don't trust western media much more than I trust despotic dictators, so do take our news feeds, images and government reports with a pinch of salt, but watching a report this morning from Homs, where a little kid had to run from the bakery, dropping his bread in the dirt because he was being shot at made me furious.
No doubt something more solid than banking sanctions will happen given time, but over 4000 have been killed so far and on behalf of the families of the next 4000 I'd like to ask my government to move things on a bit quicker. The smallest thing I can do to repay thier hospitality is to press the button on this ePetition (not started by me by the way). I know a no-fly zone isn't the fix for this, but we saw the effect on moral and the empowerment if gave the Libyans to enable them to take thier destiny with thier own hands.
