Seeking teachers in Pakistan
Going to Pakistan? Why not spend some time teaching in a small school run by a British lady in Northern Pakistan. It'll be an adventure.
Contact me, or post here for more details. Dom |
more info
Hi! Could you give me some more information? I am planning a trip from europe to Oz, my route includes Pakistan, and I would love to do something like this for a while.
I am leaving Belgium in march 2014. When, where exactly, in what conditions?? Greetings! Heidi |
Langlands school in Northern Pakistan was set up by a British Army Major 60 years ago. At 94 he retired last year and, through twitter I know the new Head teacher. She emailed me..."I now run a school in Chitral in Northern Pakistan, and am looking for English volunteer teachers, especially for Science and Maths. Do you happen to have any friends who would be up for an adventure ? The place is wild but very lovely, and the pupils and parents are very grateful indeed to anyone who arrives to help their children."
Take a look at this short BBC Video on the Major (They don't make 'em like this anymore!) BBC News - Meet the 92 year-old teacher finally calling it a day or this article in the UK Guardian newspaper He has been kidnapped and taken tea with princesses: a British major's life teaching in Pakistan's Hindu Kush | World news | The Guardian I don't know anymore but if anyone is still interested I can give you Carey Scvhofiled's email (Incidentally, she written a book "Inside the Pakistan Army: A Woman's experience on the frontline of the war on terror" which you can find here http://www.amazon.co.uk/Inside-Pakis...arey+schofield |
Thanks for the extra info! I am no maths or science teacher unfortunatly, but maybe I'll contact them anyway...
