Invite to ride in AUSTRALIA
 

Hi all its been a long time since I posted on here. When I was organising My trip to Africa in the mid 2000s, this site was a god send, so much help and info I don't think I would have actually done trip with out Horizons Unlimited.
Since coming home from My time OS, life has sort of taken over.
My reason for writing is Im now in a position to do more for charity. With My family and friends Im organising a RIDE ACROSS AUSTRALIA calling it PAMS MC RIDE. PAMS stands for Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney. Ive got My inspiration for the ride from Winifred Wells, who as a 22year old in 1950 rode a Royal Enfield 350 Bullet from Perth in Western Australia to Sydney in New South Wales. Winifred took 21 days to travel some 5,500 miles, about 9,000klm. Given the roads at the time it was a mighty trip, even today some people have concerns about a trip of that sort. Winifred is still living and resides with one of her daughters in Victoria, Australia. The PAMS ride will be raising funds for Guide Dogs and Where wanting to raise aus$105,000 which will bread, raise, train and match 3 Guide dogs to 3 people with vision loss. Just so everyone is up with it, Ill repeat a few things. All Nationalities, All types of Bikes and All Genders are welcome to take part in the PAMS MC RIDE (Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and return). You can start and leave as fits Your time schedule. If You or Your friends are unable to do the ride, please join up as a VIRTUAL RIDER, A Virtual Rider is eligible to WIN the New Royal Enfield 350 Classic (NEW, not the one Ill be riding). I will have a spot tracker on My Royal Enfield 350 Classic so You can see exactly where I am through out the ride. Hi Paul, Be leaving Perth 26th of December 2017. The ride will take some 30 days if You do all sections. You can do as many or as little as You are able. You do not have to be on a Royal Enfield, but that sounds rather cool. Its going to be the best fun while promoting Winifred Wells and raising money for Guide Dogs. Picked up Greg(promotions/advertising man) in Albury( Greg came down special from Sydney way) and with Trish drove to the 300klm to Melbourne to meet up with Judy (project manager) at RACEWAY motorcycles and had a very fruitful meeting with Jason Purser. We had general discussions on how We could assist each other in promoting "pams mc ride". Had a photo shot of the 350 Royal Enfield while Jason went over a few details. Looking very positive and We all thank Jason for his time and future input. Then out to lunch to have an informal meeting of the PAMS group, then back to home. A big day and great day. Great news, just got a message from a Couple in Southern NEW SOUTH WALES in AUSTRALIA, they are committing aus$40 a month to the PAMSMCRIDE charity for Guide Dogs. Now to get others to be generous and follow this kind Couple in assisting Us achieve the goal of aus$105,000 by the end of the RIDE in JANUARY 2018. All the best Beetle

Hi to All, This motorcycle ride is about 3 things actually 1) Raising $105,000 for Guide Dogs Victoria 2) Raising awareness of what Winifred Wells did in 1950 as a Young Lady 3) Raising awareness of the Royal Enfield name and its ability to repeat the ride across Australia. You've heard it all before but to sign up and pay up to ride will help out those who are unable to do the things that a lot of us take for granted. Ill be taking the next words from a letter I received from Guide Dogs Vic. "If You ask anyone who's ever had a Guide Dog, they will tell You straight - the toughest part is WAITING". So please don't wait, do something NOW to help Your fellow man/woman. Join PAMS MC RIDE and lets get a minimum of 3 dogs to deserving people. Wouldn't it be fantastic for us all to see the faces of those deserving people when they receive their own Guide Dog, what a world it will give to them. Doing lots to promote
 

Been on the road a bit doing promoting of PAMS MC RIDE. Took a trip to Tasmania for the Jampot Rally, put on by the AJS and Matchless club of Australia. Had a great time, even got to do a little speech at the saturday nite tea and hand out PAMS flyers and stickers, lots of interest from attendees. Then the following weekend went to the SR500 Rally at Bethanga in Victoria. Great turn out, raised $278.45 for Guide Dogs by selling stubby holders and Toy Guide Dogs and from straight Donations. If in Australia keep an eye out as Ill be doing other Rallys/Gathering in 2017 (all going well on a classic 350 Royal Enfield) Ill work on putting up some photos, all the best Beetle

Of to Melbourne to have a meeting with Guide Dogs management then on Saturday putting up a table at Raceway motorcycles. The table will sell items to to raise funds for guide dogs and promote PAMSMCRIDE that starts in Perth WA on Boxing Day 2017. Raceway motorcycle is having a Royal Enfield ride day. Just a bit more explaining - Yes all members will be able to see the total being raised on the website, see total Ive raised to date. For those that are interested they will also be able to follow Me on SPOT TRACKER, also My wife Trish who will be in the Supply car (carrying merchandise for sale, registration forms and signage etc) will do her best to post daily updates on progress of the Ride on the website also. This Ride is not a follow the leader (riders can travel as they want, and meet up at nite or at specific promotional venues during the day), but you can ride with Me. All riders will have Telstra compatible mobile phones, no riding before sun up and none after sundown. Each morning and nite a briefing will be held to assist in a smooth and safe Ride for all. If anyone wants to follow along or join up at any stage in a car/caravan/camper they are most welcome - no charge - people on bikes are the only ones that register and pay. If you want to ride a sidecar and the sidecar carries 3 people its only one fee for bike, same goes for passengers on solos and trikes. Its a lot to get through, but I want to make sure every one understands, check website pamsmcride.com.au for other details. OK lets see how this goes down. A first time for one of My Gatherings. Im going to have a VIRTUAL AWARD. So what is a virtual award? well the way I see it is not all interested Riders can get away to a Gathering/Rally, so I want those that can not attend to send off their entry fee of $25 and with that fee I want a short story on why You think You deserve the VIRTUAL AWARD, the entries will be read out at the Gathering and the winner (decided by a vote) will be sent the VIRTUAL AWARD along with their BADGE. Looking to the future
 

You may have heard of Me and My ride Im doing Across Australia (P.A.M.S. motorcycle Ride) taking inspiration from Winifred Wells who did the trip in 1950. Well many months ago I got a call from Jason at Raceway Motorcycles in Nidderie. Jason had heard about the ride and offered Raceway Motorcycles assistance, We had a meeting and all was fine for a while. Id had issues getting Raceway to commit or return My emails and phone calls. Last Friday I get a call from Jason stating that Raceway was not able to meet My time frames and that I would be better getting another firm to help out. Jason stated that He had 4 other business to handle and just could not work with Me on P.A.M.S. MC RIDE. I said that is fine and thanked Jason for his phone call. Well now Im at a bit of a loss, I really need a ROYAL ENFIELD shop/distributer or a Business that sees the potential, to help Me out. I want 2 Royal Enfield 350 Classics, one for Me to ride now to show off and promote the ride, the other to give away as a prize to the one who registers and raises the most over aus$1,000 for Guide Dogs. Im not expecting these bikes for Free, though that would be nice. What I want is a rather nice discount so as I may be able to donate and raise more money for Guide Dogs. For the shop/supplier of the bike I will promote them for over a year while riding, have them written up on My web site, on Facebook pages, promote them at Interviews and in Magazine articles that will all happen during 2017/18 and have their Logo displayed on the 30 day ride across Australia. If ANYONE has a contact or is in Business and sees this as an opportunity to raise their Businesses profile please let them know or let Me know so as I may have a meeting with them to discuss this venture. Jim also gave me the name of a guy who won the DOOR PRIZE of a 1950 RE at a swap meet in Qland and also Jim said I should contact Mid Life Cycles in Melbourne to see if they are into helping out/gettinginvolved in PAMS MC RIDE 2017.
