Land Rover Series IIa roof tent
 

Just about to set out on my second South American trip (next year) across from Colombia to Brazil and back around the north.

Has anyone done it or does anyone know if it is possible to fit a roof tent to an 88' series. The idea is to have it under the canvas (peel back the canvas to open the tent.) Secure metal storage under the tent.

Any suggestions or recommendations greatly received.

That's an interesting idea and I think one that might work with a bit of modification. Might be easier to mount it on a rollcage.

If you set it back you could have it on legs that move it up and forward at same time so that you have acess underneath but not creating extra drag(wind resistance) when travelling . Using gas strut assistance would help you overcome weight HTSH
