Windblown: Adventure 'lip' screen wanted
Does anyone have for sale or know where to get an old screen/fairing for a pre-2000 640 Adventure with the lip design? Even the top few inches of one would help!

I made one for my '02 Adventure. Find a suitable piece of plastic, tape it in place. Use a heat gun to get it hot and mold it. I used a piece of sheet plastic that was used as a stiffener in an old luggage case. It was thin enough that I could trim it with scissors. Good at 90 mph. Applied with black duck tape, covered part with sticky shelf paper, actually a thin vinyl. I molded a flipped lip at the top.
It looks good. Bill. |

Here'a a picture
Not a great picture but it gives an idea.
I have to admit it is held in place by black Duct tape. The plastic is very thin but the whole thing works very well http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l1...n/IMG_4811.jpg http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l1...n/IMG_4809.jpg Hope this helps. Bill. |
Many Thanks Bill!

Here's the whole bike
'02 Adventure.
The tires are gone. It is lowered 4 inches, 100mm using internal suspension changes, and linkage arms. Bill http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l1...n/IMG_4805.jpg |
