KTM 1190 Adv - Can't Remove Touring Case
 

Has anyone got any (sensible) suggestions for removing a Touring Case (Left side 60312924000) that's stuck on my bike?

The locking mechanism isn't working (it looks like it's failed/broken) so when I turn the key counterclockwise the case lever doesn't release.

The bike's booked into the dealer for them to take a look at but they can't see me for a couple of weeks.

I don’t know what to do next - any ideas?

Now fixed - if anyone else has this problem... I found a YouTube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZzMngTMfQ9Q) and a KTM manual (http://www.ktmshop.se/documents/manu...5000_OM(4).pdf). These show how to take the case apart to remove the locking mechanism so you can get the case off the bike.

I had similar problems now and then with a Harley Road King. The solution was easy, start the bike and let it run for a couple of minutes, the vibration rattled the lock from jammed to open pretty quickly.:clap::clap::clap:
