690 Enduro R + Safari Tank
 

Hi guys,

I had hard time with my 2016 690 and the fitting of a Safari Tank.

- The top bracket was way of, impossible to fit, had to weld on another 2-3 cm of metal to make the tank fit at all. There was still quite a bit of tension in the whole construct
- The raised tank caused the bottom left fuel line to rub against the radiator which caused it to start leaking twice already

Was just wondering if I'm the only one facing such issues

It is plastic. Thermoformed.
Put some warm to hot water in the tank (remove any fuel)... and the tank should go soft so you can manipulate it. Once finished remove the water, flush the tank with some methylated spirits and yoiu should be good to go.

Just wanted to let anyone with similar issues know...

I've stumbled upon this in another threat and ended up removing the front seat lock pin, the seat is hold in place only by the tank which works well for my bike, it is as solid as the lock pin. That brought down the tank enough.
In addition I've added some rubber to the sharp edges of the lower stock fairing mount to protect the hose that's passing by there.

Worked well for the last 2k
