who can help me with the doohickey??? urgent!!!

I'm on the road for 9 weeks in the us and not sure to do the doohickey or not... realy dont have the money to do it in a shop or tools to do it myself.

However i got all the part to replace(where included when i bought the bike)
the bike now has 10000 miles

i have to drive another month and a half till Belize, from venice where i'm now. and i'm just concerned that something will happen. or will it be fine?

does anyone have tools or knowledge they can share with me somewhere in LA, San diego, or mexico on the way to Belize??????

please let me know or help me out!!!!!!

Thanks,
Stijn

They may have someone with the tool in that area.
I know a guy who has the tool and a lift and has done a couple of them.
But we are in Reno, Nevada.

Hey Stijn,

Not sure if hanging out in Venice Beach drinking beer in the sunshine qualifies as an urgent doohickey emergency, but we'll take your word for it:)

As you doubt know, there is much debate as to whether the doohickey is a real problem on all the bikes or just some of them, and if so what percentage.

If you do decide you really want to get it out of the way, you can also post over at sites like advrider for people in the area with a garage you can borrow.

If that doesn't work out, and you still want to get it done, you can look around further south in Central America where the shop rates are going to start getting a lot more reasonable, you just have to find a mechanic that is good or ideally comes recommended. Some of the backyard mechanics are extremely competent and very cheap. Have a great ride.
