KLE500 with ktm 525 exc-f suspension
 

In 2014 I purchased a KLE500 as my first bike, to go on a trip through France. After two more holidays with some abuse and a lot of offroad riding (including trying to keep up with some dirt bikes at the col de Sommeiller) it was so beaten up that it was in need of new suspension and a lot of other parts. I checked the price of some new rear shocks, and decided they weren't worth it. After some searching I found a second hand KTM parts dealer, who sold me a WP43 front fork, rear shock, and a swingarm. After that I cut the bike in half, and rebuilt the subframe to accommodate the WP PDS rear shock.

That's where the battery and electronics are originally.. so I had to do more modding to get those back on the bike.

I also decided to upgrade the exhaust, as the stock one has a stupid design flaw (one header is longer than the other) which is very bad for the power output along the entire rev range.

Don't mind the front mask, it looks a bit weird without the front fender in place :rolleyes2:

It is now 187 kgs wet, with a lot more power than the original setup. I'm currently upgrading it with some wheels from a Husaberg enduro. The suspension is great, I can take speed bumps with 120 km/h without a problem. Offroad driving is absolutely awesome. This summer I will take it for a spin through the Alps.

Next on my list is making a new fuel tank, as the original one is too small at 15 liters. I want at least 25 for better autonomy :innocent:
