KLE pumping up the forks
I have read numerous times that adding air to the front forks on the KLE will reduce dive under brakes and also help in the handling department. I am going to start with around 10psi, the big question is do I measure the pressure with the forks unloaded and the wheel off the ground or loaded with the bike standing on its own? I figure there the air volume in the forks is fairly small so the difference between loaded and unloaded could be rather large.

You got me thinking now, I put 10psi in mine while the bike was on front and rear paddock stands.
I would think the best way would when the bike is on the groung under load. I noticed a fair difference when I did it, the bike did not nose dive half as bad. I would not go any higher in pressure then that to preserve your seals. Im off now to check mine(on the floor) Regards Roy:thumbup1: |

3.5 bars!!
I put 3.5 bars in mine and i also drop 2 cm the front shocks so that the bike would be with the nose down a bit......that is all due to 2 passenger and millions of bags....400kg in total!!! :)!!
the mechanic put 3.5 bars...or PSI...i'm not super sure....whichever is the wickets unit. the bike rised a lot and was much better on the corners with all that weight.... i do not mind the nose dive tho....it's easier to reverse the bike with it!!! PS I HAVE A KLR 650...but i guess they are the same shocks!!! |
