Neil,

Check out Motorcycle Parts and Accessories, United Kingdom and Worldwide, Motorcycle Road and Race Ltd

They have EBC ProLight discs and HH sintered pads just under £60 delivered.

This should sharpen up front end, Ive ordered mine.

Hi Roy,

I was just wondering if the brake disc fits the newer KLE models from 2005 onwards.

It is supposed to be for the old ones.

Have you fitted yours already? Did the brake power improve?

Thanks,
Frank

I'm quite sure the disk fits the newer model KLE too.

I have replaced the brake lines for HEL steel braided and also replaced the pads and the braking improved a bit. It is not shit hot but better than before.

What actually helps a lot is to learn how to use a bit more of rear brake. I started giving it more pressure and combined with the engine braking and downshifting my braking distance was reduced by almost 3 mts stopping from 80Kmh.

Hi Frank,

The discs listed on Motorcycle Parts and Accessories, United Kingdom and Worldwide, Motorcycle Road and Race Ltd will fit on the later model KLE also.

Ive checked with EBC and Goodridge and for my 2006 KLE the part numbers are the same.

All my parts have arrived and Im just waiting for my next days off to fit them.

Hope this helps
Roy

Hi Frank,

Ive got the disc and pads and Im hoping to fit them this weekend if I get chance (nailled to the floor).

Im still waiting on the braided cables.

I will post my review asap.

Roy

Just to let you know, Ive fitted the disc and HH pads now.

EBC Prolight front disc part number is MD6093D
EBC HH Sintered front pads is FA129HH

These may not be listed for newer KLE models but fit my 2006 fine.

Ive only had a little run out round the block before it started chucking it down so Im unable to give you a report on any improvement at the moment.

Im just waiting on the braided brake lines to finish it off, but Im sure this should offer a better feel from standard.

brake pads

:mchappy: hi roy
fitted pads yesterday but same as u raining here but they seemed allright at town speed ,forks dive more now so have to see what it like after bike show tomorrow .

royzx7r 9 Mar 2008 14:01

I got out this morning for a couple of hours to bed the new brakes in.

They do feel more progressive and the initial bite seems stronger. Im sure when I add the new brake lines this will improve them still.

A massive difference??.... No, but they are better.

When I took my old pads out at 4750miles, they still looked very good and would have lasted until the 8000mile service. The original disc was perfect.

I would recomend the upgrade, but dont expect a massive gain.

All in all......

£34.98 Goodridge Braided brake hoses
£41.14 Front EBC proLight disc
£18.54 EBC front HH brake pads

Hope this helps.

The Wave disk (Cod. KW13FID ), with semimetallic pads (SM1) from Braking have a good reputation.
