Help KLE 500 removing rear axle.

Hi,
I've tried the search with no success.

Im trying to remove the rear wheel on my KLE 500, removed the brakes, loosened the chain adjusters, removed the castle nut but cant seem to remove the axle.

Is the right hand side of the axle threaded into the swinging arm. ?

Axle is not threaded into swingarm, but can be a little tight of there is any oxidisation/crud present; Chemsearch Yield is good for loosening crud from metal. Put the castellated nut back on the thread so it is just proud of the end of the axle thread, then apply a couple of hammer strikes to the castellated nut - that should loosen the axle enough.

Cheers
Ian

Thanks Jameseye.

I tried a couple hits with a hammer with the nut on,
didn't want to hit to hard until I was sure the right hand end of the axle was not threaded.
I will spray some WD40 on and leave it for a few days, then show it a bigger hammer lol.

Dave.

Best practice is to knock through the front and rear spindles and grease then once in a while.
