Hi,

Going out to the shed to pull the doohickey:confused1:

Have never done this kind ov invasive surgery before but its a chance to get to know the girl a little better, hopefully more ov this:D and less ov this:oops2:

so far so good......

Well, replaced the old doohikey with a new one and used the torsion spring to keep things tight..........

Tightened everything back together, changed in a reusable oil filter and filled her up with oil, pressed the starter button..................

:DNo funny noises, everything sounds right and it seems too sound a lot smoother:clap:

One less thing to worry about:thumbup1:

Yeah, lucky or what ! The original adjuster was still intact though:thumbup1:. The engine was from a 2002 bike, fitted into my '90 Tengai.

I replaced mine on a 2002 c model with 9000miles , and noticed that it had already been replaced but there were gouge marks inside the caceings where the original one had broken and had been flapping around inside:thumbdown:

So i replaced it again but used a torsion spring instead ov a regular spring, should keep things tight for longer :thumbup1:

Its crazy how Kawasaki never upgraded it when there have been so many failures of that part:nono:
