Smyril-Line

:helpsmilie: Travelling to Iceland in July with Smyril-Line, has anyone been with them before who could answer my questions ?

What are the prices of food and drink like aboard the ship ?

What is the score regarding securing bike, I only have a side stand, is this a problem and do the crew do the lashing down with their own straps?

Thanks in advance.

I can't help with your question of Smyril-Line, but you will be fine with just a side stand, put bike in first gear, this is the best way to do it:thumbup1: They might/probably will tie it down for you, if you are not sure, watch what others do or ask:thumbup1:

The bike should be strapped, it's best to bring your own straps and do the work yourself.

PS!
Get your drinks at the ferry, it's hard to find a beer on Iceland :-)

There might be some straps, and maybe not...It's smart to have your own.

Sorry I can't remember the food and drink prices, but if you go to the inland in Iceland you will have nowhere to spend your money so it's better to spend them on the ferry:-)

food prices on the norrona aren't that bad. there are at least 2 different places to eat on different decks and plenty of variety.

Strapping down

Hi Forestry,

Just another tip for travelling on the ferries, have a slice of inner tube to put over your brake and handle bar and also fasten a bungee cord from your side stand to your front disc or your fork, to keep the side stand from flicking up should your bike happen to move for some reason. Enjoy the trip, something i'd liked to do is go to Iceland.

Roi.
