Sloes are the small, bitter fruits of the blackthorn bush and are some of the wild foods I like to pick each year to make sloe gin:D

Hi Bertrand, I found out yesterday afternoon what sloes were. Ah Ha. So it's not Slow Gin then! I had always thought it was made in some special and slow way. I can vouch for there having been stinging nettles there and lots of thick, lush grass. Pity about the lack of grapes though. Lindsay.

Good to meet you last week, the pub was a bit rammed wasn't it. I'll try and get there again this week but, as I explained last week, I have a prior family commitment that I need to fulfill so will only be there if I can sneak off without being noticed. Otherwise see you next time.

Can't say for sure as I never ate there but, from what others say it has a good reputation, there was certainly enough people there last time I went - perhaps they were 'only here for the beer'.

I might just give it a try with the family over the next couple of weeks, it's only down the road from me, if I do I'll let you know.

Hi, yes the food is very good quality. Not to be called pub food which in UK is usually heated frozen "food". The Six Bells' food is freshly made. Lindsay.

and southernsoftie (welcome aboard).

No reason why you should not set a place and time for a suggested meet. Keep in mind this section is "Yamaha tech", and there is the "communities" and the "bar". As a starter Spring comes but once a year, March 20th!
Might even get to see you all this time around.

If anyone is thinking of meeting at the Six Bells there is a great campsite just a short stagger through the fields, proper camping and they allow camp fires.
Reviews of Merrylands @ Chiddingly , Hailsham, East Sussex Campsite
I have no affiliation with either the pub or campsite, but have drunk the beer and slept in the fieldbeer
