My 1st HUBB meeting ............... so Im waiting to find out the program of events especially those later in the day, & since I live close enough to commute its tempting for me to sleep in my own bed at night and return the next morning(s)

Well hello to everybody not going to the meeting by this thread. Well, actually, hello to anybody..............

Yep, coming ot the meeting as we still struggle to readjust to normal life! We went walk-a-bout last year and still suffer wanderlust after 26,385 miles of waking up, deciding where to go, then setting off. Damn. Just need to get more money and do it again............

You'll recognise us by the fact that one of us will be waving a white stick............the female one.............who is not riding the bike..................a very shiny white F800GS as it's new............

We'll be there (me + wife + Bobby our stuffed watchdog). Easily to spot: heavily overloaded BMW GSA with German license plates. We'll probably arrive on wednesday evening already.

is the ground at Ripley reasonably soft to pitch the tent, or will I need rock pegs to peg out the tent?

I'll be there and the ground doesn't need rock pegs or mallets.

I have no idea how I will recognise any of you. I will be on a black 05 Transalp and will have the Jolly Roger hanging from my Tent. Keith 1954, we did say we would meet up for a beer one day! Just look for the skull and crossbones....

I'll be there, but unfotunately not on the bike......my mate who is coming with me got knocked off his bike a couple of weeks ago and so now has a broken leg which means he can't ride or even go pillion.

I will be there - my first visit to the UK meet, though I met some of you at the Ace Cafe in February. I'm probably going to turn up ahead of the crowd on Wednesday.

The registration doe snot seem to have been closed which it says it will be when full so I guess you can still get in.

B) Lazy gits in HR have actually processed my days off.

I will be with a rather fetching turquise and white Bmw r100 gspd.

Without going thru several pages of posts, can anyone tell me if the venue has onsite catering facilities, if yes will there be food available to purchase at mealtimes? & would anyone recomend the food & good ££ value

Or is it definately BYO or off site food

food & bar on site with extra staff laid on,I will just be taking stuff for a morning brew & some brekkie.

Anyone else from Edinburgh way heading to Ripley tomorrow..?

We're planning a leisurely ride down the lovely A68, hopefully in glorious sunshine..!

We should be at the Camien cafe, 10mls or so South of the border between 10 & 11, come and say hello..!

This will be my 4th UK meeting and I still can't wait..!:D

I'm heading down from Falkirk but on Thursday morning. I guess I'll be a day later than you on the A68.

I'll be heading down from Glasgow tomorrow...on the train! Ha ha. Not the first time either - less reliable that the CCM but slightly more comfortable (and faster).

Taking a slightly different route - thought A7 and camp somewhere near Alston and head for Ripley on Thursday - good to see there will be a good show from north of the border!
