Well, if I'm there, and I hope to be, I'll help you do that. Have you booked a ride out yet? They fill up fast.
Stephan

Not yet !! How do I do that... ?? :confused1:

How do you book a ride out ? Unless its private land the roads are anyones and theres no illegality in size.

Ride Alone and Drink with everyone

Ha Ha

I like riding with only one or two people myself, but some of the guys and gals like to head for the hills in a small group, for a couple of hours (and perhaps a pub on the way?)

With 4-500 Adventure Motorcyclists all in one place you will have no problem lightening your load for the journey back I'm sure.

I took my 30+ son to the Belgium meeting. his comment:

'It's fantastic, I've never seen so many people who didn't give a sh** in one place before! but unlike other types of biker meetings I've been to, these guys don't NEED the booze and disco crap, they are all so cool and confident'

So Ted the Great, never fear; you will get great company, gain many friends and dispense a great deal of liquid nourishment I'm sure.

See you there. Hmm must remember to book soon.

Err if 400 people all go to the one place, from one place, by the same route, at the same time .. can you say traffic jam?

And the 'leader' will not be able to orgainise, manage, talk to, and instruct a group of say more than 30 riders..

Taging along .. well you may well be 'unliked' ... And your a local .. why not 'orgainise' your own ride .. if you want to do that .. on the other hand you may find there is more than enought to do just talking around the place!

I've booked on one ride out only - think the rest will be relaxing .. talking .. looking ... listening .. taking notes..

Gutted about the dates!

Guys,

Does anyone know if I can Can I just attend 1 day of the meeting? Have made a commitment for a huge charity ball to run on the Sat, and can only do the Thu and some how stagger back on the Sunday! Possibly??

Thanks Mojo

Walkabout 19 May 2007 00:48

Mojo,
I was last there 3 years ago; people were coming and going most of the time, including me! So long as you are not bothered about a camping pitch then it should not be a problem to visit for some period of time, IMHO.

It has been getting very popular & crowded so it is possible that some sort of limit is in place; someone else will be able to answer that one (or it will be explained in the booking information on this website):thumbup1:

Dave

See you there

Thanks Dave,

Look forward to see everyone there.

Cheers Mojo.

Just so everyone knows, here's the latest update:

We are currently at 472 registered for the meeting - not all have paid of course, but we will hit 500 shortly, well before the meeting - and then it will become the first 500 paid.

We REALLY don't want to have to turn people away, :( but we don't want the meeting to become a victim of it's own success by overcrowding.

We're uncomfortable with 500 but are willing to try it this year - last year was about 400, and though no one complained, there were comments from a few, including ourselves, that it was getting very full.

So the upshot is - if you want to come, get registered and paid ASAP!

If you have registered and not yet paid, go here now to pay by chegue, credit card or PayPal!

If you have paid, your confirmation will be coming in the next couple of weeks, but if you paid by PayPal, no worries, we have it. We're moving house this weekend, so we're a little busy!

See you all there - we're looking forward to it! :D

Grant

Grant, have you ever thought that it might be just easier to buy a Wineebago instead of moving house every few months ? :Beach:

Matt :)

Forgot to mention Matt. Where the bashplate mounts the frame, you really need some rubber washers.

I used normal steel washers and the plate is a bit vibey at high revs so I plan to change mine.

Some large cheap tap washers should do the job just right.

Matt Cartney 25 May 2007 20:30

Good tip, thanks. My old crappy home made bash plate kept shaking itslef loose so some rubber washers and threadlock will be fitted for sure.

The other option would be fibre washers, wether rubber or fibre is better I've no idea but I already have a box of fibre washers so might use them.

Matt :)

hallo my friend.
