I would just like to say..
we attended our first HUBB and found it both inspirational and amazing. I did not realise how generous people would be sharing their time and knowledge.
Many thanks mick and chris |
Thank you CCM !
Had a great weekend at Baskerville Hall ( even though it rained a lot ! ) - great people and fantastic presentations , thanks to all those who organised and helped at the event , but I would like hot beans next year please :( .
A very special thank you to the CCM Boys who rescued me on Sunday - I was on the white Yamaha TT 600 RE with the tank and seat off in the car park doh with the recovery man who diagnosed a faulty coil ....... well to cut a long story a little bit shorter Ben kindly offered to take my bike back to Bolton in the CCM van . I arrived on Monday lunchtime with a spare coil and TCI , they let me use the workshop space and I was able to replace the faulty parts ........... RESULT ! A running bike . Thanks again to a really laid back and friendly bunch of people who saved my bacon . I would really like to be in the position to buy a GP 450 off this ( local to me ) company and maybe one day ? So finally thanks again and .................enjoy the Jameson's Ben ! bier |
An exceptionally large THANK-YOU!
It seemed a shame there was no UK HUBB meet last year, but it did give us the chance to hop over to the Irish HUBB, which was wonderful.
So this year when Grant and Susan announced the event it was a chance to meet up with friends known and unknown at Baskerville. Brilliantly organised, thanks, even without Uncle Sam :whistling: We had a great time and particularly enjoyed some inspirational presentations. Simon made us laugh, Dylan made us cry. Some travellers are decidedly understated and we can learn much from their experiences and attitudes. Many thanks again to all the organisers and helpers. Cheers Stephen PS Not sure what was wettest... the beer or the :stormy:, but both kept us on the go. |
It was my first HUBB too.
I really loved it, everyone so friendly and id so agree it was kind of a family affair. Offering to be a volunteer really helped me to appreciate that and in the future, give it a go, you get some great experiences. Moans..... very few.. campers could have done with some washing up facilities, the slow bike race had turned into an uninteresting specialists event but everything else seemed to go really well. Thanks Grant and Susan, and EVERYONE else. Also, sorry for eating all the biscuits in the welcome tent. As an official first aider, I had to administer them to myself by myself. I'll bring a whole new pack next year to replace! |
Yet another fantastic HUBB event, thanks to Susan and Grant, and all of the presenters and volunteers.
Although we were on 4 wheels rather than two we had plenty of interest in our classic Land Rover campers, as in previous years. I'm sure there are a few bikers out there perhaps secretly hankering after a bit of comfort, especially after the very wet start to the event :rain: Hopefully next year we can return to the Irish HUBB as well - it was just a bit too tight, time-wise, for us this year, but we'd love to finish the Wild Atlantic Way and end up at the Irish HUBB again. Thanks once again, Robin. |
Bravo!
Wonderful, warm, friendly, dreamy, colourful, funny, emo tional, tasty and :rain:wet wet wet weekend, thanks to the known and unknown organisers, sorry to have been the only french representent (apparently) but hope to see a large number of you at the HU France :Beach::palm: next September for another great travellers brotherhood celebration bier.
Roger Ride safe and cool |
Thanks for your generousity
Thank you to so many for giving generously of their time and knowldge.
Thanks also to those bikers that stopped to help with a flat back tyre. I'd only got as far as Glassby. Luckerly my wife attended Grants tyre patching course. Brilliant. |
Excellent people/location/stands and atmosphere- as usual!
I presented on Morocco on a budget, filmed and the pitfalls we faced.
to some 250+people. Thank you all for attending and making it such a great experience for us on stage! HUBB virgin-"Durham Dave" - felt immediately welcomed as he spoke on stage about the trip...this warmth and spirit extended throughout the weekend...he was amazed with the whole weekend...another convert! My personal thanks goes to the organisers- particularly Caroline; whom reassured me with her calm & professional manner in helping set up the presentation. It was through HUBB I found some of the team to complete this adventure. If you were inspired & would like to come on the next trip or wish for routes/tips etc- do contact me here(PM) or at Shaw2Shore where other episodes can also be found |
Big thank you to all the organisers and volunteers. It was a great weekend.
Our club members ( the big trucks ) have definately got it lined up in their calendars for next year . Thanks again Neil |
A big thanks to all the admin staff and volunteers from us too :-) My first HU weekend was at Riply by myself on my bike, and I had a great time. My second was at Donnington with my partner in our little Jimny as I could no longer ride due to ill health, and we had a lovely time, which was even better as I was able to share the experience :-) This year we came through flood waters in our Grand Vitara, and it was even better. It was fab to see so many trucks and Landies, as well as all the bikes. The presenters we saw, and I must mention Dylan who was outstanding, were exceptional, and we came away knowing that although I may not be able to overland on a bike again, there is nothing stopping from overlanding on 4 wheels. We were inspired, yet again, and came away with lots of ideas and plans for the next 12 months. Roll on 2017's meet

Hi everyone,
I really enjoyed my first HUBB meeting, roll on more. Everyone was so friendly, and chatty. This was my first time under canvas for more years than I dare think, so the rain was 'interesting' to say the least. But I really enjoyed the camping, much to my surprise. I'm booked to do Austin's Mini-Mondo in October, so this was a 'dry run' , as that event is under tarps. I proved to myself that I can do it, so roll on October. I was on my CCM, which proved to be a very popular bike over the weekend. The 200 mile trip was a breeze on the little gem, so the trip down through France in October should be fun too. Very pleased that I did both of Grant's tyre and puncture workshops, just hope I won't need them too often. The Yoga class was good for my back too  Cheers, Charles. |
