Home safe

Arrived home safe and sound at Chateau Ghastanbury with Touring ted and Darwinite in tow. Had a couple of beers and now packing away. Big up to Danny and his crew for a FANTASTIC weekend. Great to see so many friendly faces and so many new ones. One of the best meets I have ever been to and will be a regular on the calendar.

The road ride out was fantastic and I can only describe the many and tight bends as an exercise in sphincter control. The ford was my Niagara in a barrel moment especialy seeing the guy before me take a tumble! So much dead wild life on the roads it was a cross between Watership Down and the Texas chainsaw massacre.

To the two jakes and other people whose names I cant remember but were in the snorers corner in the "woods" great to see you all again, looking forward to next time.

Seisobs, your "biofuel" should be banned or used by NASA for first stage rockets but dear God it was goodbier.

Once again Danny and crew all the hard work you put in was visible and much appreciated.

I have to say, with absolutely no exageration, that this is firmly in the top 3 meetings I have EVER attended, anywhere in the world.

Fantastic scenic location in the Pennines,
Great facilities with new and clean toilets and showers,
Free running clean spring water well,
beautiful camping areas,
Fantastic biking roads,
Non-biking activities like touring the Lead mines (amazing), hill walks and the classic hill climbing going on at the same time literally over the road.

Danny makes this a top event. BBQ, great real ales and drink (cheaper than the supermarket and local pubs), an entertaining band and a roaring bonfire..

I can only see this becoming more and more popular to the point where it's sold out months in advance.

Well done Danny :thumbup1:

I fully concur with the above comments. A superb weekend, principally because of Danny and his helpers' hard work.

Many thanks

A huge thank you to Danny and crew for making this such a fabulous weekend! A fun filled weekend with something for everyone, I think. Went off roading on the Saturday and we were treated to a real mix of fantastic trails in warm sunshine. My enthusiasm for off roading somewhat overshadows my skills and I have to say a big thank you to Matt, our tail end charlie, who picked my bike up, from on top of me, on several occassions :oops2:.

The Beamish Trophy Trial on the Sunday was a real treat - the skill of some of the old blokes was amazing!

I've seen Haggs Bank Bunkhouse develop from the building it was when Danny bought it, to the superb facility it is now and it was great to see so many people enjoy it over the weekend.

Hope everyone made it home safely and looking forward to seeing you all again!

Ditto to all of the above,

One of the best weekends I've spent on the road to date!

The hospitality, scenery, campsite and amenities, the food, drinks, good music and the people were simply first class. Great assortment of bikes and a big thanks to Danny & family, amazing effort !

Also a big thanks to all the Lads in "Methane Forest" Ted, Jake (awesome rum & curry mate) & Stan ect ect. Side splitting yarns an unexpected and real pleasure :-)

Thanks to all.

Fantastic to hear that the weekend went so well!!! Just been having a natter with Danny who's been giving me the gen. I know how hard he and everyone worked to get the bunkhouse and the event running, so seeing all the feedback from you guys has put a right old grin on my face. :thumbup1:

Gutted Birgit and I couldn't make it  We were on a ride to Bosnia and back... As soon as Danny gets the dates set for next year I'll be putting them on my calendar!

A great weekend, Even that is stuck down in snorers corner nestled cozily between jake (1) and Stan, (Like sleeping with yer head in a bee hive to be honest) then the added pleasure of ten zillion attack midgies in the woods and to top it all through a hangovered haze having to watch stan spend hours rebuilding his trianga cooker on which he eventually cooked various different varieties of sloppy reconstituted synthetic gruel - even the smell from that didnt deter the midgies, all the while looking in wonderment at the lucky folk in the posh rooms over the road or those up on the scenic hillside and wondering why ye gad why did i end up down here with the alcholic down and outs. But it was well worth it and good to catch up with a few old faces and meet some new ones. Excellent do excellent site great facilities and a lovely area thanks to Danny and family for having us and everyone else involved in setting up the weekend. Tchus jake (2)

Great weekend!

Thanks to Danny & Co for a fantastic weekend! We both had a really good time catching up with friends and meeting new ones! We camped on the hill with the amazing views and far away from the snorers corner! Good plan I think! The mine tour was really interesting and watching the hill climb on the Sunday was inspiring!

Danny - the place is looking fab and it's great to see it open! :thumbup1:

Ya see..... You didn't drink enough real ale to collapse...Oblivious to the snoring. That's the only way to survive the night in 'Snorers Corner'

Grant Johnson 24 Sep 2013 08:07

We're very pleased to see it went well, wish we could have been there! I know Danny and crew have put an enormous amount of effort in, so very well done to all!

I look forward to many more HU Mini-Meetings at Haggs Bank, and wish Danny and all the very greatest of success with what should become a must stop for travellers :)

To be honest mate that is one of the nicest descriptions of me I have ever read. I love you! I hope the Enfield got you home safe and sound even though it only has the power of an asthmatic sucking through a straw:rofl:
