H.U. meet Nelson B.C a few beers.

Hi, Derek,

Ive got a couple of mates Alan Joy and Barry Dewett on the road at the mo, currently in Mongolia stuck in the mud, they are planning to be at the B.C. meet in August when they get over there, i think a few beers would go down well with the two of them. If you do get to meet them, say Hello to them both.

Thanks,

Roi. n Bron.

I'm an armless sort of bloke

Well I'm not going to get to Nelson after all:censored:

Here I am in Baddeck, NS with a busted right shoulder and a left arm that is semi paralised:(

I think I'll be in the saddle again soon, but not soon enough to reach Nelson this weekend. Hope you all have a great time, and look forward to catching up with you all at a later date.

Hey Derek

Hello from Wroclaw, Poland

I'm really sorry to hear of your injuries. What happened? Have I missed a thread? Is the bike all right?

Get well fast!
Good man!

I've had a crashing time in Canada

Well, a bit of bad judgement plus some bad luck has seen me in hospital twice.
First slid on some loose gravel on a corner, recovered but now on the (soft) hard shoulder, highsided, recovered and highsided again. this time got shot into a 12' deep ditch and fetched up against a boulder. 5 days in St Anthony's Hospital and doc says upper left arm nerves shot, I will never ride a bike again. I spent 2 days repairing bike at campsite and rode back to Nova Scotia.:thumbup1:

Then near Baddeck my chain broke, probably weakened in first off, and dumped me on the hwy at 100kph:thumbdown:

Hospital has strapped up my broken collarbone and said 3 weeks. If bike is fixed, its 70km away :(, I'm out of here tomorrow.

My son says 'Pain is just weakness leaving the body' I must be awfully weak:cool4:

I hope that your trip has none of the above elements in it, goes for everyone else reading, but hey, no one said it would be easy, I want easy, I'll get the bus, sometimes the piper needs paying for the freedom you get on a bike, hopefully I have used up my bad luck early on.

I keep smiling, but I'm using up my teeth on the road, so it looks more like a grimace.
I hope to update blog soon, but since thunderstorm other day, connection here is iffy.

Jesus I m so sorry. You are bearing up well. Keep your spirits up.. take a little time to rest up somewhere if you can...give your body a chance to recover. IMHO its a bit soon to start riding. Of course you can do it but hold back a little and REST. You have done brilliantly to do all that bike work with your arm in pain. REALLY WELL DONE. Dont punish yourself. But may I suggest that keeping your morale up is VERY important. The bodys healing will follow. People are good..they will help you to lay up for a while.

Do keep in touch... take a rest...
My trip has only minor problems... the usual..

I ran into Barry last night at the pavilion in Nelson...too bad he turned back in Mongolia...actually the roads there were worse than his ride to Khaborovsk...
But he did arrive in Nelson and it nice to compare notes.

Unfortunately I had to leave before early in the morning...and based on our prior night of drinking and moaning(but not necessarily in that order), he was sleeping in...
Anyways, pics of the road he suffered through between Chita and Khab...
