Heja Werner,

you could do a presentation about Romania...show some pictures and share some information ? That´ll be great...

Lookin´ forward to this meeting, missed the last one because of the birth of my son. I´ll probably take the camper van and bring him with me...about time for him to meet the right bunch of people.

Hi,

I could present a trip around Southamerica with a local 125ccm bike:

Hi Jens.

Dates look good for me and would make a good last trip to Europe for me for the year. Could you give me more details. Not likely to do full 4 days as need to book the boat. Travelling from Annan Scotland.

Cheers Alistair

going language during the meeting?

Maybe a silly question because the Hubb is in English, but will the presentations and workshops during the Hubb meeting in Germany also be in English as the going language?
I'm thinking of going to the meeting for the first time. My knowledge of German is rather limited.

NearlyHomelessNick 23 Aug 2013 15:07

Edge, no doubt people will translate, I will if need be

Penned this into my calendar thought I'd missed them all this year

Looking forward to it

igormortis 12 Sep 2013 06:19

Looks like we'll be in this part of the world by then - hope to see you there!

Most if not all the presentations are always done in English.

I have two weeks off starting the 21st Oct so thinking of wandering around for a couple of days on route to the meet..spend 4 days there and slowly wander back to the port. Could be a good plan :funmeteryes:

presentation

Hi!

I am just on my way back from Georgia into Turkey while continuing my "motorcycle therapy" :scooter:

The dates could fit for me, because I want to get back to Germany in the of October and have to pass the odenwald eitehr way...

So I could do a slide show again about my 15.000 km trip starting from Bulgaria, Romania, UA into Russia to the Urals and down the Causasus and back across TR and the Balkan back home...

Ciao

Alex

Guys,

Please excuse my ignorance, I've never been to a meeting before, but I've gotta ask before putting my name down.

This is a HUB meeting in Germany so I guess the language for the presentations will be in German? I'm not a German speaker so it makes no sense for me to come along if I can't understand what's being said. I'll end up just drinking too much beer and getting noticed for the wrong reasons.

How does it work?

Cheers

During my time of working with Germans, they tend to speak better English language than most national English, having a better grasp of the grammar. :(

Mike Wright 6 Oct 2013 11:51

More workshops and slide shows wanted...

Hi guys out there,

now it is your turn to tell a traveller´s story!

It doesn´t matter if you did a trip this summer or 50 years ago, maybe even more interesting in the former days... with old bikes?

If you have somethig to tell even a short trip around your home country - it doesn´t matter... Just bring your pictures!

Or a workshop like:

Cooking along the road?

Medicine - what to take?

Safer Sex for Bikers?

How to fix a KTM? Or why to use a KTM at all....bier
It doesn´t matter what you want to talk about - just start it!

See you next week at the 11th HU Germany Meeting!

Jens:D

There is a wonderful Motorcycle Museum at Neckarsulm, about 1-2 hours east of the Meeting Spot.

HU Germany

I'm going to this as well... it's my first HU meet.

I've booked onto the LD Lines Portsmouth --> Le Havre overnight ferry departing tomorrow night (Tue). Just in case anyone else is on this ferry too, I'm on the black F800GS covered in hi-viz! I'm planning to tootle cross-country, avoiding the motorway, and should get there Thursday evening.

igormortis 22 Oct 2013 11:49

Hi - we'll be there too. First time overlanders and first-timers at a HUBB meet. We'll probably be at the site from late Wednesday onwards, as we're already in Germany. Riding a 1988 BMW R100GS 2-up all the way from New Zealand...

Mike Wright 22 Oct 2013 14:06

I will be there late this afternoon! See you all there:thumbup1:

Middleview 25 Oct 2013 18:58

Hi Jens!

I had high hopes of being able to attend at least one evening, but it couldn't happen ;-( - and despite the absolutely 200% better weather now than last year and even warmer than the year before!! Anyway, I wish you and the assembled crew a great meeting. I wish I was there with you. Wife Yelena sends you and your family greetings. We enjoyed your event in 2011 together.

Best regards,

Steve Creamer

home.

Since I'am coming to the meeting I had much adventure on my way home.
First ice cold weather last autum, than heavy rain in spring and now :stormy: stormy wind. Hope everyone arrived safely back home too.

Was a great meeting. Thanks Jens.

angelika

Mike Wright 28 Oct 2013 07:03

Great event and interesting people made it a worth while trip. Met the storm from hell on the way back so camping north of Paris for a couple of days :stormy: Hopefully see some of you at the uk events. Thanks for organising it Jens.

Mike

Breconbuff 28 Oct 2013 20:51

I made it back to Wales safe and sound too, through horrendous storms, wind and rain. It was an excellent weekend though and I met some great people.
Many thanks Jens and sorry I didnt get the chance to say goodbye.
Till next year......

LISA

NearlyHomelessNick 28 Oct 2013 22:05

thank you Jens for organising everything, had a great weekend with great people

nrgizr 2 Nov 2013 12:32

Hi all, made it back finally a couple of days ago after spending some time camping in Belgium and avoiding the bad weather.

Really great to have met some very interesting people, Mike, Nick, Kev, Gregg, Tobias, David amongst the many.

All inspiring and lots of info. Unfortunately I feel a little overwhelmed by the difference in opinions and contrasting advice I received for a big trip in planning. Everyone tailors their over-landing adventures to their own particular vision, desires and experience. I have little experience and no clear vision ha! Just a burning desire to get out there and do it !!!

Hope to meet you all soon again.....on the road perhaps :-)

El Aleman - Jens 6 Nov 2013 20:05

Thank you for coming - see you next year!

Jens, it looks like a very tough job, all that dust, horrible nature, even worse food, etc, etc, ... enjoy the trip :thumbup1:
