I am sad, quite sad... :( I am working on Saturdays and won't be able to escape any day, so 98% chances I won't be attending the summer meeting.

During the Fall meeting my wife was pregnant, so our now 3 months old baby girl somehow also came with us. Now, we had planned to go all 3 for her very 1st meeting! Well, then it will have to be next Fall, it's good if she starts to get familiar with bikes and travelling as soon as possible (she was "ordered" during a motorcycle trip in South Africa, probably that means something, ummh?)

It also worries me quite a lot who's going to take care of RENATO aka MONTEBIANCO. His a very good guy, but he always has big problems pitching his tent. If I'm not there, who's going to help him??? :helpsmilie::D You know, he rides a BMW. I hope Jörn or Pamploniko will do it (Pam, we'll meet next time!).

Looks like we have to bail out and try for another meeting. :cursing::cursing::cursing:

If that's the case, maybe this was not the meeting for us, since we need proper accomodation with the baby, not a tent. Not even one of those huge tents where you can park your bike inside to protect it from malarial mosquito bites.

I cross fingers, maybe something changes and we can go. In any case, wish you the best time there, my warmest greetings for all of you I know, as well as all the others I hope to meet any other time who are now fortunate to attend such a great meeting (Jens, thanks again, gracias amigo!).

Happy travels,

Esteban, Isa & baby Ines

That should present no problem, at 3 months of age infants are still small enough to fit inside the pannier... :cool4:

!Hola Esteban!
Surly I will take care about Renato and his tent, but unfortunately I am on a trip to Tokyo and will arrive earliest on Saturday afternoon (is there an award for the longest distance traveled to the meeting ??) – so he maybe has to stay just covered by his BMW until then …:cool4:
It’s a pity that you cannot attend the meeting , I was expecting a proper Spanish lesson again :(
All the best to you, Isa and your new pillion!

@Jens
How can you manage, between all the movement, trips & meetings, to generate some new prospective HU members??:mchappy: Congratulations! :thumbup1:

Various

Hi,

Planning to come to the meeting.

Planning my first longer trip for 2014 to Mongolia (trough - Turkey - Iran - Turkmenistan - Uzbekistan - Kysgystan - Kazagstan - Mongolia - back with Transiberia Express to Moskow - back to Delft)
(China seems difficult since you need a guide all the time).

Looking for information on / experiences with visa, countries, routes, interesting places, where to eat & sleep - GPS etc - alternative routes - bike transport by Transiberia Express or alternatives. Also which period is best (Mongolia seems critical - river passing / snow) - how long this approx. will take (take off from work) -

Currently drive a '91BMWK75RT - think this will not work for Mongolia - considering getting a Tenere 660 - relative light / simple / economical

I think I also should look for companions at least for Mongolia.

Many questions.. I know ::smartass::confused1::cool4::

Looking foreward to the meeting
