XR230 - Mongolia
 

Hey folks,

Just bought a Honda XR230 in Mongolia (used 2005 model) and have been looking around for a owner's maintenance manual. Bit confused on what I should get. How different would it be from an XR250 or a CRF230?

Anyone have any recommendations on what maintenance manual i should pick up so I can do some work on my own? Moreover, anyone have any recs on some basic tools I should pick up ?

I cannot help with the maintainance manual but I can do most things to my XR125 with the following and expect the 230 will use the same tools.

Combination spanners preferably short series to save space and weight
8mm
10mm
12mm
14mm
17mm
19mm
24mm
Pair of pliers
Double ended screwdriver or a small one with interchangeable bits
2 tyre levers
spark plug socket/spanner

If you are not sure about working on it get a good mechanic who will let you watch give it a service and show you a few things, this might mean finding a fellow traveller as a local might not speak English.
