speedometer break down XL650
 

About every 35OOOk's or so the cable of my speedometer has to break. I don't mind, easy and cheap repair.
And I still have the GPS that I use to keep an eye on the speed.

But this time (90.000k's when it broke down) it seems not to be the cable. Anybody any idea? If it is an internal problem in the speedometer I can imagin that it becomes an expensive repair. Then I would just forget about it an stick to the GPS, also for milage.

Too bad, caus I would have loved to see that 100.000k's on my clock... Now nobody will believe me :-(
I already rode 12OOO without the speedometer working, so...

There is an nylon gear down on the axle that often get worn out. It is recomended to use acid free white grease to lube it once in a while

Can't find time to dismantle the speedometer and stuff these days.
And friday leaving for a three week trip to spain on the bike. Gonna talk to my dealer later today. Don't expect it to be solved and I will just go with the GPS as a replacement I guess.
